1submersible? sort ofJun 06, 2009
all buyers should beware, this product is getting dinged for misleading information: even though Amazon's description claims the flashlight is submersible to 500 feet, the actually packing clearly states that it's only intended to be submersed to a depth of 3.3 feet for 30 minutes.

after a bit of research, i was able to determine that the pelican line of flashlights that's actually submersible to 500 feet is the "nemo" series. i purchased this solely for snorkeling and scuba diving. it's getting returned

5In a class by itselfJan 08, 2009
I bought this light to take with me on overnight Amtrak train trips, camping trips, and animal rescue transport trips that require extensive night travel. The light has worked very well in fog, snow, rain, and dark spots in highway rest areas where I frequently stop when transporting animals to let them have a break. I bought it because of my experience with Pelican cases and have been very satisfied. Pelican makes a very reliable product and has a first class guarantee. This light may cost a bit more than most but it is truly in a class by itself for reliability and quality construction.

I have used many Pelican products over my 30 years as a diver. This light flooded and the belt clip broke off on a short dive to 30 ft. Spend a little more and buy a Teclite

2NON-Dive LightAug 24, 2008
I have used other pelican products for years and have always been satisfied but not with this light. I bought it to use as a dive light for recreational SCUBA diving. I used the light on three dives with no problems but on the fourth dive to approximately 80 feet it filled with water. The only time I opened the light was to put in the batteries when it was new. The o-ring was oiled so I am not sure what happened. I have not contacted Pelican yet so I am not sure how customer service with respond.
