all buyers should beware, this product is getting dinged for misleading information: even though Amazon's description claims the flashlight is submersible to 500 feet, the actually packing clearly states that it's only intended to be submersed to a depth of 3.3 feet for 30 minutes.
after a bit of research, i was able to determine that the pelican line of flashlights that's actually submersible to 500 feet is the "nemo" series. i purchased this solely for snorkeling and scuba diving. it's getting returned

I use this light daily, for work and around home, fishing, etc. I have had it for 2 years, on my 2nd set of batteries the whole time I've used it. Still the original lamp as well. I once dropped it into our pond while ice fishing. I wasn't able to finally snag it to pull it back up till the next day...no problem! It was still on and bright when I went back to try the next day. Fully guaranteed. I have several other pelican lights, and I backed over top my pelican 2000, mailed them the pieces for $5.50 in postage, my new light arrived less than a week later. 100% lifetime warantee is legit. Amazing company!

I had found one of these i our beach house after having some people over, no one ever lay claim to it so i kept it.
After making good use of it for a year the owner remembered they left it our place and asked back for it. I missed it so much i had to get my own.
I was amazed at the construction and materials used, it seems bulletproof. The LED is located at the lens end of the shroud which flashes into a reflector which concentrates the beam (Recoil LED). This really makes good use of the all the light coming from The LED and allows it to travel further. It is also submersible up to 500feet (so it says on the package) but i haven't tried it yet.
The belt is is a bit larger and dysfunctional for my liking and the Twist on/off is a bit of a problem when have your hands filled...
overall 5 stars for an excellent product!

Make sure you check the box - got this as a gift, thought it could be a backup dive light - only rated to 30 ft. water resistant...oh well, have a tough flashlight for the house now.

I bought this light to take with me on overnight Amtrak train trips, camping trips, and animal rescue transport trips that require extensive night travel. The light has worked very well in fog, snow, rain, and dark spots in highway rest areas where I frequently stop when transporting animals to let them have a break. I bought it because of my experience with Pelican cases and have been very satisfied. Pelican makes a very reliable product and has a first class guarantee. This light may cost a bit more than most but it is truly in a class by itself for reliability and quality construction.
