Easy on, but does not go far.Nov 19, 2009
By Drew R. Maerz The use of Seam Grip was as advertised. We used it in a ventalated space and it was easy to apply. My only gripe was that the 1 oz. tube did not cover my small tent. We will order the larger tube to finish the job. Then we will wait for the first trip inthe rain to see how it works :)

wader repairJan 07, 2010

outstanding product, you only need a thin layer of seam grip to repair tears and punctures.Used it only on breathable waders and it was awesome,I see no reason why it wouldn't work on neoprene as well.

Wear Gloves!Apr 30, 2012
By Mike_J To the point, the product works well.
My tent was typical and collected quite a bit water during its trial run in the yard, so I ordered some McNett Seam Grip which I had seen recommended on another site. I bought the urethane based product based on reviews of the water based product having a tendency to run. I used the screw-on brush applicator. This product is quite sticky and will adhere and hold to your skin for several days, collecting dirt before it fully dries. Wear vinyl gloves!! Rubbing alcohol won't cut this product and I didn't have any GoJo to try; gasoline would probably work but I don't do that anymore. In my world and in this category a four star product works well; a five star product cleans up easily; hence the 4 star rating. I was surprised that none of the reviews I read mentioned the need for gloves.
First time out with the tent we had a steady rain that lasted 12 hours and experienced no leaks! I had also treated parts of the tent with water repellant in order to give the water less time to find a way in, but feel the seam sealer was the key to keeping the interior entirely dry.
Once you open a tube, use it all, don't expect to come back to it later and have a useable product.
You will need several tubes to complete a tent and the fly; I used one tube just doing the floor seams on the front of the tent and around the door which is where I was having major leaks. I won't be surprised if it takes 6 tubes to fully seal my 9x12, but staying dry is worth the cost and this product does keep the rain out.
p.s. ATTN. TENT MFGs: Create a product that doesn't leak and people will be happy to pay for it.

Awesome!Sep 30, 2011
By Ben Miller So far this stuff is awesome! I have yet to have the chance to really give it a good test, but it is easy to apply and work with, and it stores well in the freezer. I just wish it came with more application brushes because I have already used both of mine. Time to buy some tiny paint brushes.
